Vitiligo or leukoderma is a type of autoimmune disease in which pigment cells of the skin lose their melanin producing property thus resulting in white patches. Various topical and systemic medications help in repigmenation and stabilizing the spread.

A stable patch of vitiligo is considered when there is no increase in the depigemetdptch size or new patches on past 6-12 months. Such cases are iseal for vitiligo surgery.
